The Knight Card is your official identification card as a ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Student. The Knight Card has been developed with the goal of improving access to various services on and off-campus. The card allows students access to their residence hall, the Fitness Center, to check out books from the library, and in individual cases, to purchase their meals. In addition to these services, Clarkson offers the ability to use your Knight Card to pay for vending on-campus and to be used at popular locations off-campus.

The Knight Card Program

The Knight Card program is a prepaid, declining balance account that is part of your Knight Card. It is the convenient, cashless way to pay for your purchases on and off-campus. Once funded, simply swipe your card as a method of payment at participating locations. With no fees, no chance to overdraft, and no chance of accumulating credit card debt, the Knight Card is a great budgeting tool!

Prior to each term, you will have the option of opting in to the program based on predetermined increments ($100, $250, $750 or $1000). Should you choose to be part of the Knight Card program these funds will go into a special account up to one week prior to the beginning of the term (separate from your tuition account) that can then be used at The University Bookstore, on-campus vending machines and at many local off-campus vendors. Whenever a purchase is made using the card, the purchase amount will be deducted from the available balance.

Should you wish to opt-in, log into your myCU account and then navigate to the Knight Hub menu, Campus Experience Dashboard and Financials icon.

The deadline for Knight Card additions & changes for the Fall 2024 term is August 22, 2024. If you miss the deadline and still want funds added, then please email studentfinancials@clarkson.edu and we will process it for you.

Knight Card FAQs

How do I pay with the Knight Card?

Funds deposited into your Knight Card discretionary account can be used by swiping your card as a method of payment. Deposited funds decline with every purchase, so there are never any fees or credit interest. Funds rollover from year to year.

What is the difference between the meal plan and the Knight Card account?

Your meal plan is a contract with our campus dining services for meals on campus. The Knight Card account is a discretionary account that can be used for on campus vending and off campus merchants.

How can I add funds to my Knight Card account?

Where can I use the Knight Card on campus?

What happens to my Knight Card account funds if I lose my ID Card?

Immediately report a lost or stolen card to Campus Safety & Security (x6666). They will deactivate your account as soon as they are notified. If you lose your card, you will be charged $30 for a new card. Please note that the card holder is responsible for all unauthorized transactions.

Can I get a refund of my Knight Card?

Knight funds remaining at the end of a semester will automatically be rolled over to the next semester. Funds cannot be withdrawn from a Knight Card account during the academic year. Balances over $10 remaining on your Knight Card account will be refunded only upon a student’s graduation or formal withdrawal from the University. The University has the right to use funds remaining on your Knight Card account to clear a balance due on a student account, before providing a refund.

Are there any restrictions on what I can buy with my Knight Card?

Yes- you may not purchase alcohol or tobacco products using the Knight Card. No exceptions made for those over 21 years of age.
